Open Policy
VAHS is operated on a non-discriminatory basis,

2006-2007
Enrollment
Enrollment is open throughout the year for
Pre-K through 6th Grade.
1st
Grade student/s and above will need to complete an admissions exam
based upon VAHS academic criteria for their appropriate grade
level. Additionally, an assessment of the child’s previous academic
and behavioral performance will be considered prior to acceptance
and enrollment.
Pre-K and
Kindergarten Applicants
Parent interview, tour, formal application,
student visit and evaluation are applicable.
Age Requirements:

Primary classroom minimum age is 3
years by October 1st. (Consideration being a 3 month
margin for the evaluation for children ages 33 months by October 1st
for those who show outstanding development).

Kindergarten classroom minimum age is
< 5 years by October 1st.
1st – 6th Grade Applicants
Parent interview and
tour, formal application, student visit, admission testing, school
transcripts and teacher recommendation.
Age Requirements:
- 1st
Grade minimum age is no less than 6 years old by October 1st.
- 2nd
– 6th Grades > Customary age for each grade is
considered.
Special Needs
Students with special needs such as limited
English proficiency, learning disabilities (IEP students), and/or
emotional/behavioral problems may not be admitted on the basis that
VAHS does not currently provide the programs necessary to adequately
service these students.
Fees and Tuition
- Application
fee: $60.00 per student/per year
- Registration:
deposit of 10% of the annual tuition fee
- Books and
Supplies Fee: $160.00 per student/per year
- All fees are
non-refundable

- $5,000.00 –
full time Pre-K/ Kindergarten
- $4,000.00 –
part time Pre-K

– 6th grade students
Financial Aid
Our goal is to
provide affordable education for all students while maintaining the
fiscal stability of the school.
VAHS provides
financial assistance to those families who cannot afford to pay the
full tuition, and is limited to a first come, first serve basis.
Financial aid is
available for students admitted into grades 1st-6th
only.
Trustees have
established a procedure for the application of financial assistance,
which is available from the school administration.
